Val Gardena is an ultimate ski resort. For both the individual skier and incentive groups, it is an ultimate experience. There are many unique features to share and we are happy to do so!
Val Gardena is in South Tyrol, which probably links you to Tyrol located in Austria. But no! After World War I, Italy took over the South Tyrol area. Which caused the area to now consist of a cool mix of cultures - German, Italian and Ladin. Val Gardena is the perfect example of this. Here you will find not only the best slopes, but also great cuisine where Austrian and Italian flavors come together. So, why choose between Austria and Italy when you can experience the best of both worlds in Val Gardena?
Besides access to 175 km of ski slopes, it is the perfect base to explore the whole area. From the cool villages of Ortisei (St. Ulrich), Santa Cristina and Selva (Wolkenstein) you have great connections to all corners of this ski paradise. You can tour endlessly without taking the same run every time. And did you know that Val Gardena is part of the Dolomiti Superski area? With a ski pass for the entire region, you can discover 15 different ski areas, with no less than 1,200 km of slopes. That's enough snow fun to keep even the most avid winter sports enthusiasts up and running!
The epicenter of ski action and fun with access to Seiser Alm and Seceda. The busy Seceda gondola can be a challenge, but the slopes are worth the wait. Recommended hotels are Hotel Albion and Hotel Adler.
Small but lively, perfectly located among the other villages with easy access to Seceda, Ciampinoi and Sellaronda. Hotels such as Hotel Wolkenstein and Hotel Gardena offer a comfortable stay. The best hotel in the village is Alpenroyal.
A paradise for ski adventurers with direct access to Sellaronda, Ciampinoi and Saslong. Hotel Granbaita offers a combination of comfort and style for a well-deserved rest after a day on the slopes.
Beautiful are the sunsets in Val Gardena. You should really try to enjoy that too, however, don't forget to reach your last ski elevator in time, because to get off somewhere from the Sellaronda and into a cab is still a challenge here and there.
A must-do experience? Every Wednesday you get the chance to enjoy a dreamy sunset from the top of Seceda, at 2518 meters above sea level. Board the elevator from Ortisei and watch the sun disappear behind the majestic peaks while enjoying a refreshing drink. But then the best is actually yet to come: a torch-lit descent down "La Longia," one of the longest runs in the Dolomites with 10.5 km of pure fun. Epic sunset ride guaranteed!
This amazing ski tour leads you over the mountain in Alta Badia. You ski towards Colfosco, all the way to San Cassiano/Armentarola. From here take the bus or a cab to the Falzarego Pass and catch the gondola elevator to the top of the Lagazuoi (2778 m altitude). Descend via the red slope back to the pass and take the Armentarola slope, which at 8.5 km long is one of the most impressive runs in the Alps. Bucket list experience incoming! In fact, a horse and carriage will drag you from here back to the ski area of Alta Badia. A must-do experience!
